As the son of late Kewal Subba who use to work in Radio Nepal, Dibya grew up listening to his father singing all the time .His father is his greatest inspiration and guidance and inspired him in music more. It was also his father who made him practice his first song "Sara dev choyera" by Narayan Gopal at the early age of 11.
